Prevailing Role of Mucosal Igs and B Cells in Teleost Skin Immune Responses to Bacterial Infection

چکیده
Abstract The skin of vertebrates is the outermost organ body and serves as first line defense against external aggressions. In contrast to mammalian skin, that teleost fish lacks keratinization has evolved operate a mucosal surface containing skin-associated lymphoid tissue (SALT). Thus far, IgT representing prevalent Ig in SALT have only been reported upon infection with parasite. However, very little known about types B cells Igs responding bacterial mucosa, well inductive or effector role such responses. To address these questions, this study, we analyzed immune response trout one most widespread pathogens, Flavobacterium columnare. This pathogen induced strong innate inflammatory responses at initial phases infection. More critically, found mucus having survived contained significant IgT- but not IgM- IgD-specific titers bacteria. Moreover, demonstrate local proliferation production IgT+ specific titers, respectively, within Thus, our findings represent demonstration main isotype by mucosa that, because large its probably represents prominent IgT-inductive site fish.

15 صفحه اولMAIT cells are critical for optimal mucosal immune responses during in vivo pulmonary bacterial infection.
Mucosa-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells are "innate" T cells that express an invariant T-cell receptor α-chain restricted by the nonclassical MHC class I molecule MHC-related protein 1 (MR1). A recent discovery that MR1 presents vitamin B metabolites, presumably from pathogenic and/or commensal bacteria, distinguishes MAIT cells from peptide- or lipid-recognizing αβ T cells in the immune sys...

Skin homeostasis is critical to preserve animal integrity. Although the skin of most vertebrates is known to contain a skin-associated lymphoid tissue (SALT), very little is known about skin B-cell responses as well as their evolutionary origins. Teleost fish represent the most ancient bony vertebrates containing a SALT. Due to its lack of keratinization, teleost skin possesses living epithelia...
متن کاملDendritic cells and the intestinal bacterial flora: a role for localized mucosal immune responses.
Mammals coexist in an overall symbiotic relationship with a complex array of commensal bacterial flora that colonizes the gastrointestinal tract. These intestinal bacteria interface with cells of the mucosal immune system, including DCs. Here we discuss mechanisms of interaction between intestinal bacteria and DCs and the role of localized gastrointestinal immune responses.
متن کاملB Cells Modulate Mucosal Associated Invariant T Cell Immune Responses
A common finding when measuring T cell immunity to enteric bacterial vaccines in humans is the presence of background responses among individuals before immunization. Yet the nature of these background responses remains largely unknown. Recent findings show the presence in uninfected individuals of mucosal associated invariant T (MAIT) cells that mount broad spectrum immune responses against a ...
